About Mark Ehrlichmann -

Hi!

Rev. Mark Ehrlichmann is a candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates in Baltimore City's 41st District.  Mark currently lives in Park Heights with his wife Anne.

Mark is an ordained minister, Director of Embracing Lambs Ministries, specializing in Deaf and Special Needs Ministry, including Deaf Prison Ministry for the past 5 years.  Embracing Lambs recently established a new Tutor Program for Deaf Inmates at a State prison with volunteers from the community.  Embracing Lambs Ministries was honored with a letter of appreciation in being a nominee for the Maryland Governor 2010 Volunteer Service Award.

In addition to Deaf Prison Ministry, Mark is also a Hospice Volunteer, a Mentor, Mentor Training Instructor and a Board Member of Maryland Association of the Deaf.  Mark has volunteered as a counselor at a Deaf Kids Camp for the past 3 years and did over 30 hours volunteer work on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Baltimore.  Mark's previous work experience has included: a para-educator, a maintenance manager for an apartment complex, a factory worker, child care provider, and a farm laborer.   Mark has lived in both rural and urban areas.  Mark loves Maryland and Baltimore.  Mark is Pro-life and favors preserving the right to bear arms in the protection of life and property.

What brought Mark to campaign for Maryland's District 41 Delegate?  Through his family, friends, colleagues, and Marylanders he has met in his work, he was led to step beyond a life and a job he loves, and make a commitment to a larger cause: Restoring the hopes and confidence of people and businesses in District 41 in their representative who will actually represent them.  To make possible real opportunities to achieve their potential, to get a job, buy a home, to live the American Dream, and assist them along the way with programs and services that will empower them to pursue Life, Liberty, and Happiness.

These are values that are dear to Mark and which is why he runs as a Moderate Republican.  Mark believes that Government has a role of walking along side of us, encouraging, empowering, and supporting us in times of need.  Mark does not believe it is the role of government to make us dependable on it, to make us servants to the government, to supervise us in our pursuit of Life, Liberty, and Happiness which are unalienable rights given to us by the Constitution of the United States.

It is a privilege and honor to live in this great country that provides the freedoms to do so as her citizens; for we are each a mirror of this citizenship which is based on the status that “all men are created equal.”   It is crucial to understand that this responsibility is inherent in the citizenship privileged for each person in their right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness; a responsibility that strives to protect and preserve this citizenship through respecting each individual as equal and unique in membership of the community called United States.

Mark hopes that you will join him in celebrating these precious freedoms to restore hope and confidence in our government to serve us and allow us to reach for the American Dream.
